A few years back we dared to dream. With time this dream became curiouser and curiouser, but we didn’t know what it was or what it could be. Over the years this dream gradually developed into an idea. This idea became the single most significant source of our inspiration and it guided us to explore new avenues and vistas of knowledge. Finally, with the concentrated effort and dedication of our team this idea has been materialised and Thespian Magazine was born. Since ‘Daul: A Theatre Group’ was the original founder of this bilingual e-journal, we decided to stick to the roots by naming it Thespian Magazine. This is no way suggests that this journal is solely focused on issues relating to theatre. Our goal is to encourage and bring together the whole gamut of art, literature, culture under the umbrella of this journal. Our publications are not confined within the boundaries of one nation. Thespian Magazine is an international e-journal and we promote internationality as we believe that art, literature and culture transcends all boundaries of nation, class, race and gender.
The journal brings out two issues every year in both Bengali and English. The two editions relate to the Bengali calendar- “Nababarsha Sankhya” (Bengali New Year Edition; April-May) and “Sharat Sankhya” (Autumn Edition; September-October). Recently, Thespian Magazine has been through a major overhaul regarding its outlook. This new makeover also intends to make the journal more user friendly with better accessibility. We believe that with this new face Thespian Magazine will emerge as a frontline e-publication in the fields of art, literature and culture.
