Vibha S. Chauhan
Professor Vibha S. Chauhan is an author/editor of more than ten books, her literary and creative writings and articles have been published in reputed journals and literary collections in India and abroad. Some of her noteworthy books are, Maa Siddeshwari, biography of the legendary singer; Beyond Black Waters; Angarey: Nine Stories and a Play; Manto Saheb: Friends and Enemies of the Great Maverick.
Her novel in Hindi titled Ganga Jamuna Beech has been noted for the way it recreates the hybridity of languages of people who migrate from their native culture/s to adopted ones. Her major research interests include non-urban cultures and languages, sociology of literature and culture studies. An avid translator, Chauhan works across Bhojpuri, Hindi, Urdu and English.
Besides a Ph.D in Comparative Literature from Jawarharlal University, New Delhi, Chauhan has degrees in Education and Law. She is also the Founder Direction of ETI, her foundation that actively works in the area of disability, with a special focus on positive intervention and support to visually impaired students of government schools.
