Shaoni Chakraborty

 

Shaoni Chakraborty has completed her Bachelor's and Master’s degrees in English literature from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. Although her interest in literature transcends languages and boundaries, she is currently a PhD research scholar in the field of memory studies, focused on the theme of the Bengal Partition.

An ardent admirer of regional history and writings, Shaoni looks forward to translating works from Bengali to English in the near future. She is greatly enthused by the classroom environment and enjoys English language teaching, particularly to speakers of other languages. She is also associated with interdisciplinary research along with her primary thesis work.

Shaoni has previously participated in national and international level conferences in Kolkata and across the country, and is a published author in academic as well as creative journals. She has contributed as a co-author for a chapter of Literature and Trauma, edited by Dr. Prem Shankar Pander.
