    Sarmila Acharif

     

    Dr. Sarmila Acharif is Associate Professor of French at Pondicherry University with over 25 years of teaching experience. A gold medallist in B.A. and M.A. French, she holds an M.Phil. and Ph.D., specialising in French and Francophone literature, and the teaching of French language and civilisation. 

    She has taught at several reputed institutions in India and served as an English Language Assistant in France. At Pondicherry University since 2008, she has been actively engaged in teaching, research, and academic development. Her publications focus on Francophone women writers, identity, and cultural studies. She has organised international workshops, conferences, served as a resource person and subject expert, and contributed to curriculum design through multiple Boards of Studies. A three-time recipient of the Best Teacher Award, she is known for her student-friendly approach and commitment to promoting French studies in India.
